CHEFS COMPETE TO REPRESENT SKUNA BAY SALMON® AT TASTE OF DERBY™A KENTUCKY DERBY®CULINARY EXPERIENCE
HOW DOES IT WORK:Chefs enter their most amazing Skuna Bay Salmon recipe here on the entry page along with a photo - between Feb. 25, 2013 and March 17, 2013. 30 chefs will be selected by a panel of judges to compete - 3 chefs for each of 10 cooking competitions.On March 20th these 30 chefs will be announced.
THEN:At the end of March, 10 competitions will be held across America with 3 chefs at each competition cooking their Skuna Bay dish against each other in front of a judging panel. 1 chef at each event will emerge and head to one of 2 National Semi-Finals: in LA or Chicago
AT THE SEMI-FINALS:In Mid-April, the winning chefs from the first round events (10 chefs - 5 at each Semi-Final) will again compete head to head (to head) in front of a judging panel at one of each Semi-Final event (1 in LA, 1 in Chicago). Contestants' travel expenses (see rules and regs) will be provided. One chef at each Semi-Final will win - and travel to Louisville, KY for the Finals.
LOUISVILLE, KY:Will be fun. Each finalist chef will be paired with a Mentor Chef who will guide them through the final round and help with the recipe and support. On May 1, 2013, in front of 16 peer chefs preparing for Taste of Derby™, the Finalist Chefs will go head to head in the kitchen for the win - and recognition in a national ad in Saveur Magazine
TASTE OF DERBY™: A Kentucky Derby® Culinary Experience is where the winner will be announced. Both Chefs will appear at the Skuna Bay station where they will have the option to serve.
THE KENTUCKY DERBY®:Both Chefs will be the guests of Skuna Bay Salmon at the 139th Kentucky Derby® enjoying VIP seating
